Sports Massage Limerick

By design, most sports involve a lot of physical stress. Sports massage is important before, during and after any type of physical exertion due to their effectiveness in: improving flexibility, reducing the tension in muscles and reducing fatigue. All of these benefits have the net effect of not only improving sports performance but also reducing injuries.

Our Physiotherapy Limerick offers sports massages to those active in various sports. Our Therapists have a deep understanding of the anatomy of the muscle groups most affected by various sports and as a result know how to approach every sports massage based on your sporting activities. Apart from the physical benefits, sports massages improve focus/concentration and offer stress relief, which are important in sports performance.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a therapy that is effective in the treatment of various musculoskeletal pain disorders or any condition where muscle pain and tightness are an issue. While it seems similar to the ancient Asian practice of acupuncture, dry needling is based on modern medicine and is evidence based.

It works by aiding muscle relaxation and improving blood flow to the affected area. This naturally aids the healing process. It is commonly used to treat the following issues neck pain, headaches, migraine, back pain, tennis elbow, calf and shin pain or tightness. Our Chartered Physiotherapists have post graduate training and are certified to administer this effective therapy safely.
